Save the Stick
When on the search for a rare or interesting used car a common question arises: Manual or Automatic transmissions? Automatics with Paddle Shifters and DSG transmissions have replaced the manual gearbox with newer shifting technology. From Import to Domestic 3rd pedals are becoming harder and harder to come by. Many of us still continue to desire a standard while less and less are being made every year.
What can you do to help? I myself didn't learn standard until 5yrs into driving. My parents only ever drove automatics so it was hard to learn such a skilled trade. Car enthusiasts often make the comment that a Stick Shift is a theft deterrent since many people don't drive it anymore!
Standards are king of the road in inclimate weather as well as fuel economy!
